Social Management
In-line with TAPG’s commitment on implementing sustainability principles, the Company also conducted social management through:

-
The implementation of Free, Prior, and Informed Consent (FPIC) principles, TAPG recognize, respect, and value the rights of the locals, and the customary landowners to determine the use of the land around them. We are not developing or expanding our plantation without mutual, FPIC agreement between both sides. All negotiations regarding compensations for the lost benefits and/or waiver of rights are done without any kind of coercion and must be collectively agreed by the locals.
-
We analyze and manage the social and environmental impacts through the Social Impact Assessment (SIA) and HCV, along with the implementation of our action plans. Our SEIA study was conducted back in 2012-2014, and will be updated on 2022. Through this social study update, we show our firm commitment to manage the existing social issues responsively using our sustainability principles. Collaboration with third-party social management experts is one of our strategies in order to execute our social approach with the latest and most effective approaches.
-
We respond to all information requests from all our stakeholders, openly and transparently accept all suggestions, feedbacks, complaints and grievances for considerations. The procedure has been communicated to all stakeholders annually, and all forms of negotiations and communications are completely documented.
